Laura Zhang joined KKR in January 2019 and currently serves as an Operating Partner at KKR Capstone. Prior to joining KKR, she practiced for six years in the Shanghai office of JunHe, with qualifications and training spanning M&A audit, ACCA, corporate transactions, investment and financing, outbound expansion and the digital economy.
She has advised multinational companies, global investment banks, funds, Chinese enterprises and listed companies on cross-border strategic M&A, domestic and offshore investments, joint ventures and outbound expansion projects. Her work emphasizes pragmatic solutions for complex and innovative transactions, as well as long-term support for compliance and regulatory frameworks.
In outbound expansion, she coordinates overseas M&A teams and supports greenfield investment and acquisition transactions across the United States, Europe and East Asia.

Her transaction experience includes influential foreign investment and M&A projects, such as the sale of McDonald’s mainland China and Hong Kong business interests and the transformation of its business model, as well as the offshore medium-term note program of CITIC Limited. The McDonald’s transaction was recognized by the ALB China Law Awards as M&A Deal of the Year.
